Premium 08/07/2022 Daily Update
Good morning. Small loss of 1.4 points yesterday but we were probably due a losing day after being up a huge 19.7 points this week alone so I'm sure you won't lose much sleep over that one! Let's hope we get some of that Friday magic brewing today and have a big one.
Todays Bets
20:30 Chester - Late Arrival 15/8 1pt win
Improved on recent efforts to win 11-runner handicap at Pontefract (6f, good, 28/1) 11 days ago, easily having raced on advantageous part of the track. Big chance if able to back that up under a penalty here from the plum draw.
13:15 Newmarket - Flying Honours 5/4 1pt win
Foaled January 23. Sea The Stars colt. Brother to 14.5f winner Snow Tempest. Dam 9f-11.5f winner, including French Group 3 event. Has an excellent middle-distance pedigree and stable should have him ready.
Weighted To Go Well
16:10 Newmarket - Mums Tipple 6/1 0.5pt ew/1pt total
Had a solid win off a mark of 102 last year and then a further good 2nd place off a mark of a massive 109 and is today running off a mark of 92 with S Levey on board. I'm really liking the look of this one especially after it's found a decent amount of market support this morning to confirm things. I've gone for a each way but if you like a bit more risk just have this straight win because I'd be shocked if he's trying and he doesn't win.
18:45 Chepstow - Liberty Bay 9/1 0.5pt ew/1pt total
Similar story to above really. Had a strong win off a mark of 70 last year and then a 2nd place off a mark of 71 after that but has since come down and today is running off a mark of 56 at a weight that it has won with before. Charlie Bennett jocked up today and also was for that strong 2nd place last year.
All the best,

STAKING GUIDE / POINT SYSTEM (READ IF NEW)
I'm now going to be including this small snippet at the bottom of every newsletter and what it basically explains is a simple point staking system. Some of you will know this already and can just ignore it but it's important for new punters to understand as it's essential to being a winner. We all love a massive gamble there's nothing better than just sticking £50/100 on a horse you've convinced yourself is a dead cert but it's a bookies dream in the bigger picture. With a fixed system you can be a bad gambler and still win and a good gambler with a system is a great gambler, but with no system you're really up against it.
Right, let's assume for your scenario you have a betting balance of £100. Could be less it could be more it doesn't matter.
I like the 5% of your balance is 1 point rule. It's actually probably on the more risky side but it allows for 20 losses in a row (very rarely ever happens, but possible). So 5% of £100 means 1 point is equal to a £5 stake. If your balance was £500 then 5% would be £25 and you get the picture.
So if I was to suggest a bet and it was a 1 point stake then put on £5. If it was a 0.5pt/point bet then you put on £2.50. Very simple right.
Each Way bets are the same, I'd usually write 0.5pt each way / 1pt total which would be £2.50 each way and £5 altogether.
Hopefully that clears it up because I've had a few people ask and a few people lose money when everyone else is winning money and they're a bit lost and I can relate as I've been there myself when I first started.
